STI Technology Treatment Process

 STI Treatment Process

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE

STI’s unique SX-9000 chemistry produces unmatched performance
The technology found in STI’s industrial polymer treatments resulted after generations of product development, decades of research and testing, in all types of applications including the most demanding industrial lubrication challenges. The commitment to advanced polymer technology has produced treatments utilized worldwide, unmatched in any market. STI treatments are not the typical additive. Rather than replacing oil or changing oil’s lubricating characteristics, STI Engine Treatment goes beyond to “treat” lubricated metal surfaces with a micro-thin fusion of polymer, like “wet ice, on wet ice.” Friction and wear diminish greatly while engine and component life is increased.

Formula
STI’s effectiveness is based on our unique formula SX-9000, a sophisticated blend of premium components each playing a critical role in achieving long-lasting fusion of polymer treatment.

Polymer molecular weight – low vs. high
The STI's polymer molecular weight contributes to properties that establish our polymer as the lubricant of choice. Most polymer treatments use a polymer with comparatively low molecular weight. STI, by contrast, utilizes polymer with a very high molecular weight, many times greater than other products that have been introduced to the market. The high molecular weight provides a more resilient polymer with greater tensile strength, fracture resistance, and elongation capabilities. The result is STI's tough, long lasting polymer treatment.

Particle Size
The wide variety of manufacturing processes, use polymer in a wide range of particle sizes. The polymer typically utilized by treatment manufacturers ranges in size between 2 and 10 microns. STI uses a polymer with a particle size many times smaller than one micron, permitting greater penetration of micro asperities on friction surfaces. Oil filters typically begin to remove particles at 10 to 40 microns. Therefore, STI's polymer is not removed by any oil filter. A leading independent lab tested STI polymer through a 0.8 micron filter membrane and concluded "there were no problems filtering this material through the membrane."

Suspending agents
In order to provide the utmost in effective polymer treatment, STI’s SX-9000 incorporates suspending agents that prevent coagulation of our dense, high molecular weight polymer. Negative encapsulation of the polymer causes the particles to repel each other, avoiding coagulation in the STI container as well as the engine and lubrication systems. STI’s suspension is so effective that treatment of hydraulic systems with nominal-agitation reservoirs has become a valued industrial application, utilizing STI’s line of specialized industrial polymer treatments.

Chemistry
While friction and wear prevent buildup of carbon on friction surfaces, tenacious gums and varnish deposits in surface asperities pose a challenge to polymer particle penetration and fusion. SX-9000 contains highly specialized compounds that reduce surface tension on these pollutants and allows STI's polymer to penetrate asperities, producing potential for long lasting fusion of polymer.

STI Fleet SolutionsAttraction to surface metals
STI's SX-9000 generates an affinity to metals with negative polarization, which responds to ferrous metal's positive polarity. STI's polymer is quickly drawn onto friction surface metal high points, producing prompt and thorough treatment and more rapid fusion and performance response to STI's new dimension in lubrication.

Bonding Agents
STI's SX-9000 bonding agents activate in response to the electro-chemical energy generated by consistent metal-to-metal friction assuring treatment of friction surfaces.

No harmful components
STI's polymer treatments contain no harmful extreme pressure agents or other components such as chlorine, that could harm engines, technicians or the environment. Polymer is chemically inert.
